Headwise privacy policy

Effective 1 November 2026.

Headwise is a browser extension that changes HTTP request and response headers according to rules you write.

What Headwise collects

Nothing. Headwise does not collect, transmit, sell or share any personal or usage data.

  • The profiles, headers and URL filters you create are stored in your browser's local extension storage (chrome.storage.local) on your device. They are never sent anywhere.
  • Headwise makes no network requests of its own. It has no server, no account, no analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising and no remote code.
  • Headers are changed by the browser through the declarativeNetRequest API. Headwise gives the browser a list of rules and never reads the requests, responses or pages you visit.
  • Files you export are saved to your device only when you choose to export them. Files you import are read locally.

Headwise Pro

Headwise Pro sends your licence key to the API of Polar.sh, the merchant of record for Headwise Pro, to check that the key is valid, and it does so only when you enter a key.

Removing your data

Delete profiles in the extension's settings, or remove the extension, which deletes everything it stored.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be published with the extension update that needs it, with a new effective date.
