Framekeep privacy policy

Effective 30 October 2026. Publisher: Quiet Tools.

Framekeep is a browser extension that records your screen, a window or a browser tab, with your microphone and tab or system audio if you turn them on.

What Framekeep collects

Nothing. Framekeep does not collect, transmit, sell or share any personal or usage data.

  • Recordings are made only when you start one and choose what to share in the browser's own dialog. They are stored in your browser's local storage for the extension (IndexedDB) on your device and are never sent anywhere.
  • Your choices in the popup (screen, window or tab; microphone; tab audio) are stored in the browser's local extension storage (chrome.storage.local) on your device.
  • Framekeep makes no network requests of its own. It has no server, no account, no analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising and no remote code.
  • Framekeep has no access to the websites you visit and cannot read or change them.
  • A recording leaves your browser only when you download it, and then only to a file on your device.

Microphone and screen access

The browser asks for your permission before Framekeep can use the microphone, and shows its own picker every time before anything on your screen is recorded. You can withdraw microphone access in the browser's site settings for the extension at any time.

Removing your data

Delete recordings on the extension's Recordings page, or remove the extension, which deletes everything it stored.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be published with the extension update that needs it, with a new effective date.
